As a young twenty-something, Elke Rubens left school in search of a workplace in an office environment, because anything to do with the PC aroused her enthusiasm from an early age. With little to no experience in data processing and typesetting, but with a great desire to master it, she knocked on the door of the company Style (formerly Crius Group), run by the Willems family in Baal.
25 years later, Elke is celebrating her 25th anniversary with Crius Group and we are happy to let her tell you about those experiences herself.

A world of knowledge
OCR, WordPerfect, PDF conversion, automation with Word templates, HTML and XML encoding, ... a world of knowledge opened up for me. Discovering new software packages and figuring out how to get started with them. So I was completely in my element and for me it didn't feel like a job but a hobby, a pleasant occupation and that in a family and warm setting. I am very grateful to founders Linda and Jos for the nice workplace they created and the pleasant time. They were always ready when you needed a babble and regularly spoiled us with an afterwork drink, a joint sports moment, a team building or a treat with a dinner for your birthday.

In the years that followed, sons Jurgen and Jordy also came on board. A young and enthusiastic management was born! People worked very diligently and with great dedication. Together with the other and new colleagues who joined, we became a close team and we all worked together to become what Crius Group has become today. A beautiful thriving company!
The company continued to grow and also the software we encounter in our industry within the typesetting world is in constant development. My eagerness to delve even more into this remained ever present. With a healthy dose of curiosity, I switched from the data team to the publishing team. That was a logical next step for me.
Grateful and happy
Admittedly, it made me sweat and shed some tears, but with some perseverance, I succeeded! Bringing each book, each project to a beautiful conclusion gives me enormous satisfaction in my job. And I think I speak for every employee at Crius Group. As the years have passed, my confidence in this has grown significantly and to this day I am still grateful and happy to be working at this great family business. 💚
