Content knows no boundaries

Everyone who works in the publishing sector will agree: content is the most valuable asset of a publisher. Most of you will agree with me that the challenge of cashing in on this value is increasing.

The value of content

Everyone who works in the publishing sector will agree: content is the most valuable asset of a publisher. Most of you will agree with me that the challenge of cashing in on this value is increasing.

I believe the solution to do this can be split into two parts. Almost everyone continuously strives to control production costs without compromising quality. Think of printing abroad and printing on demand, but also offshoring or automating prepress activities.
However, there is an other side too. Content is preferably used as broadly as possible, via different channels and sometimes also in different publications. So far nothing new.

Crius Group offers support with content creation

Everyone who knows Crius Group a little bit, knows that we are constantly working to help publishers with this. We are best known for the typesetting of pages and books. In recent years, products for asset management, content management and the automatic editing of thrillers and novels have been added. In other words, publishers usually visit us for the typesetting of the end product and / or tooling and software that makes this easier.

What many do not know is that Crius Group also offers support with the creation of the content itself. And no, of course we don't want to become a publisher or author... But what is it then?

With each issue you can best start with the basics, the content. You can compare it with the foundation of a house. If this is good, you probably have no problems with the construction of the first and second floor. There are of course many different options.

Think before you act

In the case of new content, it is important to provide it with the correct structure before it is further processed. This can be done with the help of tools used by the author. But often an author cannot or will not do this at all and you have to look for alternatives. You can do this yourself, hire someone or simply outsource it.

And what if the content already exsits? For example when you want to re-issue it or because something digital has to be done with it. The possibilities are endless. The proverb, "think before you begin" is then much more applicable.

Why am I telling you this?

I believe that a lot can be gained in the field of "content creation". And you earn this profit back in the further process. This can be in the form of lower page prices, faster lead times and a high-quality product.
