“Words may inspire, but only action creates change”
The corona pandemic has shown us that things can change quickly. This got us thinking and changed our focus a bit this year.
Anja Van Genechten
HR Manager at Crius Group
We are slowly crawling out of our caves again to get together and sometimes even get to know each other again. Because yes ... a large number of new people are now also working at Crius Group, many of whom had never seen their colleagues before. Working remotely has ensured that the bond with the company and between the employees themselves is a bit lost. And that's hard! Especially because we asked a lot of everyone. So… we have to do something about that.
Hybrid working = the new normal
For us, 2022 is all about our employees. They have already shown how resilient they are in difficult times. Investing in their well-being is therefore more important than ever. Moreover, we continue to grow rapidly and we also want to be positively on the radar for new potential employees.
But how do you start with that? How do you ensure a hybrid organization in which everyone is happy? We decided to be guided in this and entered the process of 'Baanbrekende Werkgever '23'. This is all about putting people at the center of the policy on hybrid working and mobility.
It will be an exciting learning trajectory in which we will be immersed in workshops and guided by HR professionals. This should ensure that we will continue to be an attractive and people-oriented employer in the future. In short, we strive for employees who want to work for us and who do not have to work.
A common goal
So it's also about that connection. And what brings people closer together than taking action together for a common goal? Something that affects us all. Crius Group, our employees, but also our relations in the publishing sector. That brought us to compensating and reducing our CO2 emissions. In other words, fighting climate change.
Crius Group has already undertaken a number of things itself. For example, we recently covered our roof with solar panels and we are also going to accelerate the greening of our vehicle fleet. But we wanted to go even bigger, show real commitment! That brought us to 'trees'. Yes, the publishing industry is a major consumer of paper, so we thought it was high time to give something back!
How are we going to do that?
Together with BOS+, a Flemish organization that is specifically committed to forest conservation and more and better forests in Flanders and the world. The goal is to raise a minimum amount of €10,000 by the end of September. This allows us to plant our own publishing forest of no less than 1 ha.
Of course we set a good example ourselves. Crius Group already deposits € 2,500 to BOS+ and starts the campaign with this. But our employees will also set up actions to collect money. Sports, baking waffles, selling second-hand clothes… you name it. Everything is possible, everything is allowed, as long as it yields something. 😉
And we also want to involve YOU, our customers, relations and partners.
You can discover how we want to achieve this here!
With all these initiatives, we really hope to be able to give something back… for the climate, but also for our employees. So as Richard Branson would say, “Screw it. Let's do it."
