Many parties are involved in making educational books: authors, illustrators, editors, etc. Plantyn knows this all too well. “All parties must do the necessary before the book can be drawn up. Add to this that books must always be at the schools on time and you understand that a reliable typesetter is extremely important,” says Zen van Aggelpoel, head of production at Plantyn. Flexibility is an important value for Plantyn. Fortunately, our team is as flexible as a sheet of paper. “In practice, I regularly see that source materials are delivered just on time and sometimes too late. The typesetter often has to go the extra mile to get the files to the printer in time. Crius Group has a large educational team with real experts and is therefore very flexible. That's a nice thought," says Zen.
Thinking, communicating and delivering quality
Flexibility isn't the only thing that counts for Zen. “Especially in busy times, it is nice to work with a single point of contact who is fully aware of everything that is going on.”
If there are problems with the images supplied or if texts do not arrive on time, we immediately notify Plantyn. Of course we always try to think along and come up with solutions. “That's nice when you have a lot on your mind,” confirms Zen.
And then, of course, there's the quality part. Every teaching method is different and design is always very important. You have to understand each other well. It is not a superfluous luxury to discuss what you expect from each other before you start! And it prevents nasty surprises afterwards.
So you see, Crius Group and Plantyn go back quite some time. Together we have already created many methods, such as: Taalbende, BUZZ, New Contact, and so on. That won't change anytime soon. 🙌
