Whether you publish digitally or in print, accessibility should be built in from the very start. Creating an accessible ePub3 can be complex, as it contains far more information than its predecessor. And from June 28, 2025, publishers must not only comply with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) but also provide additional metadata in ONIX format.

Accessible ePubs
We create accessible ePub3 files according to international standards (WCAG 2.1 Level AA and Accessibility 1.1 of the W3C Publishing Working Group). Are we also producing the print edition? Then we integrate accessibility directly into the process.
Do you only need an ePub? With our user-friendly platform, you can easily request accessible ePubs based on Word or PDF. You stay in control, while we ensure that the ePub meets all accessibility requirements.
Accessible metadata
In addition to the ePub itself, we also provide the correct metadata – crucial for distribution and retail. We can deliver accessible metadata in several ways:
- Separate delivery in ONIX format for automatic import into distribution platforms or your own ERP system.
- For clients who do not work with ONIX, we have developed a convenient HTML view in the style of Centraal Boekhuis’ metadata wizard. Based on this, you can easily enter the metadata manually.
